Gingerbread Dark n Stormy

This cocktail is a festive variation of a classic cocktail: the Moscow Mule. Using rum instead of vodka makes it a “dark and stormy” cocktail. Serve this drink at your next holiday gathering, or while you watch your favorite winter movies!

Gingerbread Dark n Stormy

1 serving

Ingredients

½ lime

45 ml gingerbread simple syrup*

1 cinnamon stick

4 ½ oz soda water, chilled

1 ½ oz spiced rum

Crushed ice

Method

Add lime juice, syrup, and rum to a copper mug. Stir.

Fill the mug with crushed ice. Top with soda. Stir.

Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a drizzle of syrup. Serve immediately.

Notes

You can use a store-bought gingerbread syrup, if you’d like, but I made my own. You can find the recipe below!

Do you need to use crushed ice? You can use cubed instead, but I love how the crushed ice reminds me of snow!

Optional: You can sprinkle some gingerbread spices on top for added aroma and flavor.
