Boozy Vodka Strawberries

I helped some strawberries get party-ready with some whipped cream vodka! If you're looking for a grown-up take on a fruity dessert, try this! Soak strawberries in whipped cream vodka for a few hours. Serve them with shortbread, whipped cream, or your favorite strawberry dessert!

Strawberries

For this recipe, fresh strawberries are a must. You’ll cut them up and place them in an airtight container (I used a jar with a reusable plastic lid) with vodka for a few hours in the refrigerator. Don’t leave them overnight–they’ll get a lot more vodka flavor that most of us wouldn’t like. We’re looking for spiked, not straight alcohol taste.

Whipped Cream Vodka

Using a flavored vodka really helps bring out a better flavor. I used a Smirnoff whipped cream vodka for mine. While the vodka flavor in Smirnoff are cheap, the whipped cream helps. They sweeten their flavored vodkas too, which also helps counter their vodka flavor. If you like your desserts really sweet, you can add in some sugar for the strawberries to soak in too. It’ll dissolve nicely and bring out the sweetness and flavor of the strawberries.

Using Vodka Strawberries

There are so many ways to enjoy these strawberries. I like to scoop them out of the vodka with a fork to drain them a little, but the vodka itself is still perfectly usable. Try serving them with ice cream, shortcake, whipped cream, or any of your favorite desserts.

Try them with my Fourth of July Jello Cups!
